Doodle 085 | Summer Ends

I am flying up to MIT (technically a Boston hotel) on Sunday and won’t be flying back down until November for Thanksgiving (because homemade hot pot is legendary).  Today and tomorrow have been set aside for packing up and taking random pictures of home.

Every summer, I commit the same mistake: writing out a list of expectations and goals to be completed before school starts. And every August, the list is never complete. Usually, the list involves some self-mandated curriculum of studying, but I never end up doing it.

But what I did manage to accomplish made my summer experience more relaxing than summer has been in the past. Yesterday, I accomplished two things:

First, in the morning, I went back to my high school to visit a few people and to paint our debate team‘s shutters:

I can never paint a perfect circle…

And second, I picked up my new prescription sunglasses. Armed with my new sunglasses, I no longer need to squint my eyes beneath the sun:

Summer is finally closing off, but I am looking forward to classes again, to give my free time more structure. I find I am more productive the less free time I have, which seems perfectly suited for a college curriculum.

Onwards.
